Verbicaro is the perfect example of the small town village of South Italy with a very laid back lifestyle in which the locals enjoy picking the fruits of their hard work and the great company of family and friends.

The old town centre, only partly inhabited nowadays, spreads and blends into the modern part of the town, where the locals are the most welcoming, as Calabrians are know to be, and are more than happy to share their knowledge and products with visiting guests, ready to welcome and help as they can.

Verbicaro is well know for its wine heritage and production. Almost all families in town produce their own wine, therefore the selection is vast, going from the exclusive bottle of the local family that picks and presses their grapes the old way and tastes the grape must as it ferments, or others that have become bigger producers of wines like Berbicaro and Verbicaro DOC or the Catuvo, an award winning red wine made exclusively from Verbicaro grapes.
